MY REVIEW Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Emotions, sentiments, societal beliefs, norms, rules and regulations, these have forever bounded the realm. We all ought to have our own ways of understanding and accepting the ideals around us. DESCRIPTION ‘Dear Russell, Your’s Truly’, with all its seven stories, the title story being loosely predicated on a personal encounter, is very close to my heart. Every character, every protagonist, living or dead, is in search of love. But aren’t we all? Through their respective ordeals, they do find love, just not in the conventional way they expected. We all are Jason, Raj and Sid. We all are Gauri, Mohana, and Grace. Some of us are Rudra also; it’s only a matter of time till we accepted it. Each of the seven stories of ‘Dear Russell, Your’s Truly’ is a journey, at the end of which, some find acceptance, some find absolution, and some find answers they had spent a lifetime chasing. MY REVIEW How can love ever be defined, that too appropriately? The glitter in the eyes of a kid when he sees his favourite toy, the yearning of a distant lover gone for work, the fear of losing out your beloved and kindness sparkling through the eyes of your pet.
