Book review: Love and other Demons, The untold tales

Many of us have special memories of the books that have inspired us, and have learned the profound effect that reading the right book can have at the right moment.

Books have the power to transport us to new worlds and different times, but they can also take us back to the important moments in our own lives.

From building your vocabulary to reducing stress, preventing age-related cognitive decline and increasing your ability to empathize, reading books is an easy way to look after your mind and body.

Whether you’re an avid reader or wish you read more, I really must emphasise greatly over my suggestion to you, to read Love and other Demons: The untold tales by the very audacious author Paras, a consummate at skilfully playing along with emotions, ofcourse by his pen. A compilation of 13 stories by him envisages human emotions, relationships, life, prostitution, breaking stereotypes etc.

The characters of his stories, though just in silent depiction speak a million words. Those are as if, they are people round the corner in your very own environment. People, facts and happenings with which you can actually correlate.

The story Kisna literally made me go numb. I was shook as the story took such intense sentimental turns. It made me shiver, the mere thought of losing someone to death, that too a kid who is the apple of your eye. My blood went cold for a pretty good time. This particular story would last in my mind, like forever. Ingrained into my head and heart, such was its impact.

I can not elaborate on how beautifully every story has been forth. Everything about this book is just so magical. Most importantly, these are some very precise and creative yet life-drawn pieces that wind up well and even keep your eyes glued throughout as the story proceeds. This book is really a must read. I would also like to congratulate the publisher Lab Academia for doing a fabulous job of publishing this book, their contribution has added to its exquisiteness. This book is really a must read. Also I would gladly rate it a 5/5.

Book Review of Shehar Me Ladka

Some books don’t feel like books at all – they feel like someone opening up a corner of their life and letting you step in. Shaher mein ladka, ladke mein… was that kind of book for me. I come from a small town myself, and like the author, I once carried the same restless dream of moving to a city. Reading these stories, I could almost hear echoes of my own journey – the confusion, the excitement, the way the old world never really leaves you even when you’re chasing a new one. What I loved most is how honest these stories are. Some are drawn from the author’s own life, some from friends and family, and some from the way life just brushes past us when we’re not expecting it. But all of them feel lived-in and real. At times I smiled, at times I just sat quietly with a line long after reading it, and a few stories left me with that sweet ache of remembering where I came from. This isn’t just about small towns and big cities – it’s about the spaces in between, the people who shape us...
