SILENT MOMENTS OF MELANCHOLY, BOOK REVIEW

DESCRIPTION

An Epic poetry collection of 21st Century Inc. told in a mode of the Victorian age.
The agony of the IT generation flowing silently through their hearts may not make much noise pollution; the alarm bells of emotional pollution are sounding, notwithstanding.
Amol Redij's poems impelled by the aridity of solitude unfold the looming veil on the suppressed excruciations of the young generation falling into a trap of detachment caused by hectic lifestyles and fragile relationships.
The poems, the absurd nightmares of the present will make you moan silently with a frozen echo within you. The desolate bosom fermented with sorrow with cast an infectious spell to find a cathartic nirvana one needs, ultimately.
The whole generations' sorrow confined in this Integrated Circuit (IC) will, little by little, haunt unapproachable reaches of your inside.

MY REVIEW

Heartbreaks, distress and pain these emotions majorly make a writer and with them, there is nothing wrong with melancholy, apparently it acts as an important colour in writing.

In lieu with same, a collection of 66 gut-wrenching poems, Silent Moments of Melancholy by Amol Redij will show you n number of shades of gloom and it is astounding to witness how the entire book throws at you emotions, which in reality are felt so deeply at the heart.

Every piece of poem is fraught with melancholy and it won't relieve you until the end. The entire collection is built on the themes of anguish, dejection, agony, sorrow, gloom, pain, separation, grief etc, all of it ranging to a plethora of sentiments relatable to sadness experienced in life. The author also very diligently highlights that melancholy is not only perceived at times of grief but it even creeps up somewhere around the corner of heart in moments of rejoice as well.

Every poem is impeccable, brimming with such extreme emotions that it cuts straight to the heart. However, this acts as a major drawback in the book because gloominess is not always likeable. Also you will tend to lose connectivity as the poems are based on different themes and there is no link between the chapters, so it won't glue your eyes as it would have done, had there been some connectivity. But literally there are some pieces which I loved, like: The Final Prayer, Somewhere, Someday and I Still.
The poet has gone on and on using different emotions and symbols to convey his thoughts to the readers.

To sum up, It was bewitching to read such a masterpiece! I would gladly recommend it to all and would give it a rating of 3.5/5.
